Stresa, inside and outside The town of Stresa is situated on Lago Maggiore, in the Piedmont region. The largest part belongs to Italy and northern part of lake belongs to Switzerland. Stresa offersa breathtaking spectacle: superb lake front with palm trees and gardens and behind beautiful facades. Looking at the lake, as if by magic emerge from the water the spectacular Borromean Island. Isola Bella, Isola Superiore (Isola dei Pescatore) and Isola Madre. |

Lago Maggiore, Stresa This video was produced by one of the local tourism bureaus. From a helicopter you get a nice overview of the lungolago, some of the villas in Stresa, and then a fly-by of Isola Bella and Isola Pescatori. |

I recently came across the first, which is a video advert for Stresa -- from a Japanese TV station! I can't even be sure who made the video, but it's well-made, and it's nice to see that Stresa is known and promoted as a destination. They emphasize food a lot in the video, which I like to see. If anyone reading this knows what it says, please feel free to share it with us! | |
Lago di Mergozzo This video gives an aerial and on-the-ground view of one of my favorite spots, little, lovely Lago Mergozzo. We've visited Mergozzo already in a couple of posts, and you probably know it's one of my favorite spots around here. I love in this video that you can really see the town nestled in the mountains, and how close the lake is to Lago Maggiore, yet how isolated one feels when here at Mergozzo. |

Last week we visited here three of the local Sacri Monti, those at Orta San Giulia, Ghiffa, and at Domodossola. Now let's visit them again, in this beautiful video produced by the Distretto Turistico dai Laghi. Here, take a quick look at some of the details and exteriors of the sanctuaries, and a view of their grounds. Most impressive is an aerial view of the Sacre Monte Calvario di Domodossola, on its hilltop towering over the town of Domodossola below. |
